The Hook Club is one of New York City’s most exciting and unique live bands, known for our attention to every musical detail and the professionalism we bring to every event. Our versatile and modern ensembles can be customized to fit with any party, and we work closely with our clients to make sure our playlist is designed around you and your guests. Whether you are hiring us for your wedding, corporate event, or birthday party, The Hook Club will come dressed to the nines and ready to rock!
Our goal is to take every audience on a journey that they will never forget - from timeless classics to the dance hits of today, our instrumentalists will dazzle crowds for hours on end with our high-energy arrangements, while our amazing vocalists get the crowd dancing and singing on the dance floor. We have a saying on stage - “A THC show is not a spectator sport!” When we play, we get the whole room involved, and everyone leaves feeling like a member of the band.
Meet The Founder
Dan Vernam is a NY-based musician and event producer with an untiring fascination for live music. He is a graduate of the Bard College Conservatory and has studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and Berklee College of Music. His vast experience as a high-end event producer has led him to work with NYC’s top planners and venues. His roster is an eclectic group of exceptional musicians, hand-picked by the band leader to dazzle crowds for hours on end. Our Origin Story
Some of our original members at our first wedding in 2016.The Hook Club began as a college bar band in the Hudson Valley, playing to rowdy crowds and learning how to put on a great show. We would perform every weekend, and before long we were getting asked to play weddings and private parties all over the Hudson Valley area. Once members of the band started to graduate, we got serious about the band and The Hook Club (THC) was born!
Footage from our first NYC wedding at Brooklyn Botanic Garden.Today, The Hook Club is based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and many of the original members still make up the core of THC’s lineup. We are a boutique entertainment and production company, providing top-notch live entertainment and production services for events in New York City, the tri-state area and beyond. We are independently run, which means that we do not contract with any booking agencies or talent companies, and we work directly with our clients and planners. We are managed by our small community of musicians and artists, and we have our own in-house equipment and crew.
