Our Clients are #HookedOnTHC!
When my wife and I booked our wedding, the first vendor we were absolutely certain about was The Hook Club. We had seen them perform many times at Groove in NYC, so the choice had never been easier. This review has taken me by far the longest to write, because it is a tall order to do justice to their talents, energy, and professionalism. The bible-length saga of 5 star reviews below mine should tell you one thing: Book this band and never look back. Your only regret will be that your attendees will never stop talking your ear off about how mind-blowing the music was at your wedding. This band absolutely shreds. Each musician and singer on stage is at the absolute top of their game. Being a pro musician myself, I made a wager with just about everyone in attendance: If this wasn’t the best wedding band you’d ever heard, you have my express permission and encouragement to let me know. No one needed to. It might be the case that more people came up to tell me how f-ing good the band was than said “congrats on your wedding.” Can’t say I blame them. It is worth mentioning that many of those in attendance were also highly critical pro musicians themselves, and their reaction can be distilled down to “I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to see a wedding band that knows what they are doing, let alone THIS.” The process of booking THC was easy as can be, and we were met with the utmost speed and transparency from Dan and Jesse. They explained the various options for band size, the difference between their classic band, full band, DJ band, strings, and more. The music planning worksheet was so easy a monkey could fill it out, and it included countless hit tunes from various eras and genres as well as a handful of blank spaces for specific requests. The band was also extraordinarily helpful with various auxiliary tasks–providing microphones for the ceremony and executing pre-recorded playlists at the proper times. THC were not just a wedding band to us but an integral part of our wedding planning process. If you’ve planned a wedding before, you’ll know what I mean by that. It’s simply impossible to imagine our special day without them, and we are eternally grateful.

We booked The Hook Club from a recommendation from a friend and they absolutely crushed it. Our friends and family loved them and had only good things to say after the wedding. They're super organized, listen to your feedback, open to learning new songs and overall just great musicians, singers and performers. We met with Dan and Jesse and they were great and listening to our vision and vibe of what we wanted for our wedding. Super chill, nice, and easy to work with. Also great to support a local Brooklyn wedding band. 10/10 would highly recommend.

The Hook Club was a top highlight from our wedding - they are an incredible band! THC had our guests dancing before we even walked into the reception, and we are still receiving compliments on how wonderful they were from friends and family. They also made our ceremony and cocktail hour magical and memorable. From the beginning, communicating with Dan and Jesse was great. They were super responsive, clear, and thorough in answering our questions (and we asked a lot!). We were thankful to have a band that was not just phenomenal at the music piece, but also fantastic at planning and communication. We'd recommend The Hook Club in a heartbeat!

The Hook Club was amazing! Incredibly talented, organized, flexible, and professional. Dan led us through an extremely collaborative process of customizing our plan, helping us prioritize what was important to us, and finding logistical solutions. The Hook Club played acoustic guitar + vocals for the ceremony, then a DJ + sax + vocalist with dance lighting for the reception. Our guests were blown away by their talent and the atmosphere they created. Thank you, THC!

My wife and I were so impressed by The Hook Club and so thankful we hired them for our wedding. Dan and team went above and beyond to be prepared and punctual, and most importantly played their hearts out and made our reception so special. Before the wedding, Dan was very clear about the options and packages they have available, which are all reasonably priced. They have a DJ option, but we opted for the band with two singers instead. Dan took the extra effort to take the 1 hour drive out to our venue to attend a planning meeting with the venue, just so he could make sure everything went extra smoothly on the day of. And it went so smoothly. I'll also mention that Jesse and Dan met with us three times before the wedding to go over music selection and schedule. They stuck to our musical preferences perfectly. And now the most important part: the ceremony and reception. They were AWESOME. Truly made our party what it was. Crazy renditions of Don't Stop Me Now by Queen and so much more. They got everyone dancing and having a good time. I should mention they even learned a special song for our reception. In short, if you want to have a great party at your reception, if you want to dance to some incredible music, if you want your guests to flood you with compliments about the band at your wedding - choose The Hook Club.

We loved The Hook Club! During the ceremony and cocktail hour we have a piano trio (strings + piano), 6-piece reception band during dinner, and a DJ Band to close out the night. It wasn't easy to find a band that could accommodate all the musical formats we were looking for, and The Hook Club took care of it all perfectly. We received so many compliments on the various musical configurations throughout the evening and afterward. Highly recommend!

It's hard to put into words how incredible the The Hook Club is - they totally surpassed our expectations! They brought incredible talent and energy to our day. The dance floor was packed from the moment our guests entered the reception and the dancing did not stop all night long! We received so many compliments from our guests on how amazing the band was. In addition, Dan was amazing to work with. He is extremely professional and was flexible during a very stressful time (postponing our wedding twice). Although their repertoire is extensive across all genres, The Hook Club was happy to add some off-list song requests which made the event even more special. Would strongly recommend them to anyone!!

The Hook Club were just the best! My wife and I thought a quartet would be a fun addition to our intimate ceremony, and I am SO glad that we ended up finding The Hook Club. We were a little worried an all string quartet would be a little too formal for what we were looking for, but The Hook Club had options for a bunch of different instrument quartets to our preference. Dan and Adam were great at helping us plan the songs we want and even taking a couple requests. They're AMAZING musicians as well, and we were so happy to have them play for us and our guests. I definitely recommend everyone to give them a shout, couldn't have had a better team of musicians at our ceremony!

From the very first call my (now) husband and I had with The Hook Club, we were sold. Dan was a great representative for the band. He was informative, he was open to collaborating on ideas, and he had a positive energy about him from start to finish. We decided very quickly to hire them for our June 2022 wedding at Brooklyn Winery. Our guests are still-- a month later-- raving about how good The Hook Club was and how much fun they had at our wedding. Their performance was perfect, and they over-delivered on every single song. They worked closely with us on any special requests and came up with great ideas when we needed help. We used a 7-member version of the band and everyone was incredible and brought such a great vibe to the night. Bree and L'Marco were stars! I can't wait to get another chance to hear them live!

I am not sure I can sing enough praises for The Hook Club (okay, I'll let them do the singing). Every single communication we had with Dan, Jesse, and the rest of the band was professional, funny, and enjoyable - and that's certainly not something you can say about everyone. We booked THC back in March 2020 before the shutdown and they were so flexible and kind as we went through various reschedulings of our wedding. They are so well-prepared and thoughtful, really considerate of what you want and what you and your spouse imagine your wedding to be, and very clear on what they need from you. As it got closer to our date, Dan and Jesse were super communicative and when we ran into some issues with COVID causing our guest numbers to dwindle, they were our own little hype team, telling us that they'd be sure we had a good time even with fewer guests. I'm not sure I ever told them how much it meant to me to have their reassurances during that time. I have known from the moment I got engaged that I wanted a live band at my wedding and truly, we could not have found a better one. My parents were skeptical of a large live band, but when my husband and I went to that first THC showcase, we knew from that moment that they were the band for us. We promised our family and friends a good time, and we followed through. Our guests were astonished, literally jaws dropping all over the place as the band got going. My parents' faces were incredible to behold and my sometimes-curmudgeonly dad was grinning from ear-to-ear all night and kept telling me for days after how great THC was. I got so many comments about the musicianship, the energy, and how incredibly fun they were. Multiple people told me it felt like we were at a concert - which it totally did! They got everyone engaged in the dancing, playing music that guests of all ages could enjoy, and engaged with everyone down on the dance floor and really made it feel like a million people were there, which was important to me. I could really ramble on forever at how incredible they were, but I'll just sum it up to say that they were the life of the party and I am so thankful. I cannot recommend The Hook Club enough - I wish I could give ten stars. Every moment of working with them was a pleasure and I feel so lucky. Thank you a million times over!

The Hook Club was 100% the star of our wedding. They were lively, insanely energetic, incredibly nice and unbelievably talented. We had a few pieces during the ceremony (so beautiful), 8 pieces during the reception, and they DJ-ed our after party. The dance floor was packed the entire night! It's been over a week since our wedding and we're STILL getting messages from friends and family about how amazing the band was. If your #1 goal of your wedding is to make sure the dance floor is never empty, The Hook Club is your answer. On top of making the night perfect, they're a TREAT to work with. Dan is very organized and makes the planning process so easy - something we really appreciated! I promise you, you will not be disappointed if you book this great group of people for your wedding!

If we could give more than 5 stars, we certainly would! We hired The Hook Club to play as a trio (violin, cello, keyboard) for our intimate wedding (~40 people). Everything about the experience exceeded our expectations. We corresponded with Dan, who is extremely professional, along with being a talented musician. All aspects of working with Dan -- from planning to day-of entertainment -- was fantastic. We had comments from many of our guests, expressing how much they enjoyed the music throughout the course of the evening. We cannot recommend The Hook Club enough!

The Hook Club was a pleasure to work with and a highlight of our wedding. We had them play for our 140-person wedding in Brooklyn this past October. We had done several calls with different bands in the local area, and from the first few minutes on the phone with Dan, we knew The Hook Club was the band for us. His professionalism, friendliness, and passion for putting together the best party possible for my wife and I made it an easy decision. The band provided us with a large song library to choose from and Dan was proactive and very responsive in helping us put together a final set list. They were flexible with additional song requests and were a huge value add when it came to working with our venue to help figure out timelines and logistics for the evening. The Hook Club crushed the performance and brought a ton of energy to make sure everyone was up and dancing until the last song. Our wedding guests repeatedly still bring up how great the music and the bands performance was. I would highly recommend The Hook Club to anyone that is looking to work with talented, experienced, and professional group of musicians. Dan and the entire team were phenomenal to work with. Every thing we asked for, they delivered on, down to the confetti cannons. Don't overthink it- this team is amazingly professional, highly skilled and really, really fun!!! You won't regret booking them! We had a ceremony piano which was gorgeous on the beach and a string quartet that performed from the upstairs balcony during the cocktail hour - both of which incorporated our specific requests and more general stylistic requests (e.g., more modern songs that you might not expect to hear a string quartet play). The Hook Club really brought the party for our reception and after party- we had an incredible band with amazing stage presence and the after party DJ was great about taking our in-the-moment requests which made for an amazing night. I personally missed the confetti earlier on and Dan was kind enough to do a little more for me even as we approached the end of the night. Again- can't say enough good things. If you book them please invite me to your wedding so I can enjoy it all again!!!

TLDR - The Hook Club KILLED IT! Planning a wedding is hard and planning a wedding during a pandemic is near impossible - Dan and The Hook Club made that process so much easier! Not only was Dan a pleasure to work with when we had to reschedule, but was always available to answer questions throughout the entire planning process. It was awesome to be able to see the band play live at several of their showcases leading up to our wedding (pre-pandemic) and when it came to the day of they did NOT disappoint. Everyone was amazing from L'Marco , Bree, Dan - to the rest of the band who's names I wish I knew - extra shout out to the sax player (because who doesn't love a good sax moment). The band did an amazing job curating the perfect playlist that covered all genres and kicked off with an awesome hora which was a requirement for my family. You can tell how much THC loves what they do and it shows when they are right in the middle of a dance circle singing with the guests or over at the bar singing on a handheld mic getting even more guests back onto the dance floor. Highlight of my night was doing the electric slide (to a song I can't remember, but was into) with about half the band on the middle of the dance floor without any planning whatsoever. Everyone keeps raving about the band and I can't wait to see them again soon at friends weddings or at a future showcase. Book THC and you won't regret it!

Wow wow, the best experience we could've asked for. First off The Hook Club was absolutely awesome to communicate with and coordinate with. They were super responsive and professional but at the same time so laid back, we trusted them completely with their vision. They were great through the pandemic and made sure we all were on the same page. The musicians are so talented, we had live music for the ceremony and cocktail hour, right before my ceremony started they played a beautiful song I had requested. The cocktail hour was beautiful, the music was at a perfect volume where we all could hear and enjoy them but people could carry on in conversation. The reception was off the charts, everyone wouldn't stop talking about how awesome they were with the music choices. Ash the DJ was absolutely on point, read the room and the talented live musicians integrated with the DJ was perfect, we had never seen anything like it but it was better than we even imagined. Big thanks to Dan who checked in all the time and even followed up after the big day. This group was one of a kind, thank you all so much.

The Hook Club played at our wedding last weekend, and we, along with all our guests, still cannot stop raving about them. Their vibrant energy brought the night to next level. They have such a wide range of genres and decades of music that every single person, young and old, had songs to dance and rock out to. No one left the dance floor the entire night, which is exactly the type of wedding we wanted! Dan was amazing to work with. He was responsive, professional, gave good ideas and suggestions, and communicated frequently with us. We had to postpone our august 2020 wedding, and Dan was so accommodating through the postponing process. He honored our original contract and checked in with us frequently. He is very organized, has a google spreadsheet that was so easy to navigate and helped them get a better idea of what we wanted them to play. All in all, I would give The Hook Club a 10/10 and 100% recommend them to EVERYONE. Our wedding was the best day of our lives, and The Hook Club helped make that possible in every single way!

The Hook Club played at our wedding 7/31/21 and they were truly the best ever! It’s hard to say in words just how awesome they made the night, but I’ll try! From the start, Dan took care of us and made sure to keep our ideas involved. He really listened and got the vibe we were going for. We originally had planned to have our wedding pre covid and it was delayed over a year. Throughout the process Dan made sure to keep us in the loop and was so accommodating during that hectic time. He’s really is a nice, chill, professional guy who I knew I wanted to work with on our special day. The music selection was wide ranging and we were touched that they were able to surprise us with a song we wanted that wasn’t on their list. The day of, they were super early and prepared. We were a little busy and hectic but they knew exactly what to do. Once the reception started, they took over and we let them guide the night, creating the right mood for every moment. We really got hooked by their videos when looking for a band and I’ve gotta say the music was better than advertised! Not only that, I’m so glad they immersed themselves with our guests. They really got everyone involved and became great friends by the end of the night! Thank you Dan and The Hook Club for filling us with lasting memories! Trust these guys and you will have an awesome wedding!

No hesitation…book this band! Great communication from the start, they will configure anything for you to match the experience you’re looking for, they bring the energy, and they are super talented! Their 7pc band played at my friend’s reception and they were amazing, so good that I called her 2 years later to ask who her band was so I could book them for mine. I had the DJ band at mine and the dance floor was packed. Great combo of the live experience while being able to play those songs you want to hear in original form. People haven’t been able to stop raving about it and thought it was so unique. Talking to Dan to set everything up was like talking to a friend. I reached out to him before I had an official date and venue booked just to make contact and he started helping me find a venue, sending me lists of places he thought I would like. No contract in place, he just wanted to help. Also, I had seen a violinist playing with modern tracks and wanted that for my reception and he went out and found someone he trusted who could do it for me. You will be so glad you booked The Hook Club!

The Hook Club was both absolutely amazing to work with and were phenomenal at our wedding – every wedding guest (regardless of age) remarks on how they were the best band they’ve seen at a wedding. Not only is the band extraordinarily talented (and fun), but Dan was wonderful to work with. He was extremely responsive and patient, made sure we understood the entire process, and made it as easy as possible for us. The Hook Club strings were amazing for our pre-ceremony, ceremony, and cocktail hour – they created a perfect atmosphere and experience leading into the reception. Booking The Hook Club was the best decision we made for our wedding (and we were truly happy with all of our vendors)! The band was the second vendor we focused on after booking our venue, and it was very important to both of us to find the right band. We went to countless showcases and performances. We went to see The Hook Club during the summer of 2019 during a performance in Greenwich Village and were blown away, even compared to some of the other great bands we had seen. We went back to see them at their showcase in Brooklyn and the rest was history. We booked a full 12-piece band and also hired musicians for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Dan was amazing to work with from the get-go. He was flexible, understanding, energetic, and truly made us feel like they were excited to be a part of our wedding. We were so excited to have a band that we felt like we could really trust and would understand and play to our fun-loving crowd. When we had to postpone our 2020 wedding to 2021, Dan made a difficult process so much easier. As our wedding date approached, Dan and Jesse kept in contact with us and we felt confident in their hands. They learned multiple songs for our ceremony and dances as well as a special request for the reception that was amazing. When the night came, they exceeded all of our (already high) expectations. They were the absolute best, kept the energy up the entire night, and we were honored to have them be a part of our wedding. People still haven't stopped talking to us about them! We can't wait to hopefully go see them at a Greenwich Village gig some time soon! If you're looking for an energetic, fun, professional party band, I promise you won't find anyone as good as THC. HIRE THE HOOK CLUB!!!!!!

We had Dan and Adam from the Hook Club playing our small outdoor ceremony, and while we only needed musicians for a short time overall, they were phenomenal! We couldn't have asked for more. Not only was their performance spectacular, they were prepared, professional, and incredibly accessible and easy to work with. They really did everything they could to enhance our wedding. We can't recommend them enough.

AMAZING. THC played at my wedding on 8.20.21 at Tribeca Rooftop and they were incredible. My fiancé and I were very picky with selecting a band, we went to a few showcases and from the start we knew THC was the perfect band for us. Dan was so nice to work with and made the selection so easy for us. The dance floor was packed the entire night and my guests still cannot stop talking about how much they loved the band. I didn't get to talk to half my guests because I didn't leave the dance floor all night! Everyone has said it was the best wedding they have been to, thanks to the hook club :)

Having a violinist at our ceremony was so special! We chose to do a duo along with the piano to play as our guests were arriving and throughout the ceremony, which really elevated the overall experience. The Hook Club was by far the best part of our wedding! Leading up to the wedding, Dan was so helpful in providing advice and suggestions for all aspects of our event, from the ceremony and cocktail hour musicians to the reception playlist. Having live musicians from start to finish really set the tone for the evening. All members of the band had the most amazing energy, you could tell how excited they were to be performing together as they each took turns singing for different songs. They were able to accommodate multiple special song requests that weren’t on their set list, which made the reception so much more meaningful for our guests. It was a non-stop dance party all night, our guests didn’t want the night to end and are still talking about how much fun it was!

If you take one thing from this review, have it be that YOU MUST HIRE THE HOOK CLUB FOR YOUR WEDDING! Seriously they made the evening and so much more magical and spectacular than it would have been with any other music. They are hands down one of the best bands I’ve ever heard and worked with, “wedding” band or otherwise. They are unbelievably talented and I would pay lots to listen to them anytime! As for actually working with them: Dan, the band leader, is incredibly professional, hardworking, accommodating, kind and super communicative. The entire process was a piece of cake and he took all of our suggestions and played everything we suggested, as well as provided a plethora of songs for us to choose from from day one. Dan truly went above and beyond to make this not only super easy and non-time consuming during the planning process, but the evening one of the most beautiful, well-scored nights of our lives. Even my dad was blown away by them, and he’s a professional musician. So seriously: Hire The Hook Club!!!

People are still talking about this band! I’ve sent their info to at least 3 couples who were at my wedding who LOVED our band/DJ hybrid! We went for the DJ + drummer/sax combo and it was perfect. They were super easy to work with leading up and we met in person a few times before the day which was super helpful since we’re very picky about the type of music we wanted played. We had an acoustic band set up for the cocktail hour where they played instrumentals of Bob Marley, Rihanna, Jay Z, The Gorillaz etc. People couldn’t believe the more modern/less traditional songs were being played so well. The same happened when we went into the reception with more upbeat music— they mastered every song we asked for and were super flexible when we had some changes leading up to the day. The dance floor was always packed which was exactly what we wanted. Would definitely recommend Dan and his team for any event!

The Hook Club will be the best decision you make in the wedding planning process, trust me! After hearing these folks play and seeing what they do to a room, we didn’t consider not booking them. The band completely transformed the energy and joy of the reception, I shudder to think what lackluster merriment would have happened without them. From the amazing setlist to their terrifying stamina to their palpable joy, I’m tearing up just thinking about the amazing job they did at our wedding. They even coordinated a surprise with my husband to have him up with the band to play and sing! They’re not just another wedding vendor for you, they /are/ the party and the energy. The vibe of our first dance was perfect (Ella Fitzgerald’s Cheek to Cheek), it was romantic and warm. The floor thumping dancing later (LCD Soundsystem’s Dance Yrself Clean, R Kelly Ignition Remix, Hamilton’s Helpless, Michael Jackson, Salt n Pepa, Aretha Franklin, and much much more!) was everything we could have hoped for. At the end of the night, the band went acoustic and joined us down at the bonfire with some impromptu singalongs with our guests. It was the perfect end to the wonderful night. I don’t know how they do it, but they had more energy after two sets and 7 hours after the beginning of the wedding than I thought possible! Dan and the band worked with us to create a setlist that was perfectly us without batting an eye at our weird requests. I can’t imagine our wedding without The Hook Club. Quick, book them before they’re booked for your date!

“Simply the best” is the best song to describe The Hook Club! From the minute I’ve watched their videos on YouTube I felt in love with this band from Brooklyn and wanted to have them at our destination wedding in New York! They did such a great job to bring emotions during our rooftop ceremony with an acoustic duo playing all our favorites Soul & RnB love songs during processional, recessional but also betweens interventions, people had chills when hearing the amazing voice of their lead singer Bree. And during cocktail hour, the band (bass, drums, keyboard, guitar & vocals) did an amazing show with a lot of energy and cool vibes to entertain our guests ! All our friends and family were impressed by their performance, especially when the band started rapping on Alicia Keys & Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” or Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop”! As huge fans of Hip-Hop, we had special song requests that not all bands can’t do, and not only The Hook Club were really accommodating about the playlist, they are also super talented. Dan, their band leader was so easy to work with, always available to answer our questions and prepare the big day with us with excellent ideas. Beyond being talented and professional, they are super nice people you would love to party with! If you love music, you will love The Hook Club ! MERCI BEAUCOUP, you guys are the best!

The Hook Club was absolutely fantastic at our summer wedding! They created a set list that perfectly balanced my husband’s favorite bands with my own, while also delivering dance floor favorites. This group is pretty much the definition of pro. After I proposed to my now wife and started actually thinking ahead to what I hoped our wedding would look like, music was just about my top concern. I knew I wanted live music, and I wanted a band that could play a wide array of classics and wedding staples as well as some more newer, more niche selections. When we decided to work with The Hook Club, I made sure that the group would be able to handle my special requests and more, and in the end we couldn’t have been happier. Whether it was a jazz standard, some 90s R&B, modern indie, or a song from Hamilton, the banded absolutely nailed it. The Hook Club provided us with ceremony music on our big day and we could not have been more pleased. From the start of the planning process through until the wedding, Dan got to know us as a couple and our vision for the ceremony. Together we selected the perfect “guest arrival” playlist and procession music via a collaborative Spotify playlist. We had no worries come wedding day as Dan orchestrated the set up, microphone/sound equipment and timing with our coordinator and officiant. It was wonderful to know things would go off seamlessly. We had The Hook Club play at our wedding and we absolutely loved them! Not only are they extremely talented and super fun, but they are so kind and down to earth. The Hook Club is the real deal! We hired them to play the melodies for our ceremony, a jazz ensemble for the cocktail hour, and an entire set for the reception. The Hook Club was a huge reason why our wedding was such a success. Our guests had so much fun dancing to their songs and were so impressed by their performance. The band is usually the first thing our guests bring up when talking about the wedding. This group of musicians not only sounded and looked amazing but they were also extremely accommodating to what we wanted to hear. This was in part due to the fact that their repertoire is so expansive, being able to play almost any genre from any decade. HIRE THE HOOK CLUB BAND! This was the best decision we made in our wedding planning. Everyone at our wedding said it was the best band at a wedding they’ve ever seen (and some of our friends have had 16 piece bands). One friend who is a big Amy Winehouse fan thought that their rendition of “Valerie” was a recording at first, that’s how good it is. Their demo tape really does not do them justice. We had the band for the wedding and also a singer and guitarist for the ceremony, which was a really special touch. Dan was an absolute pleasure to work with and felt more like a friend than a vendor. He also served as the logistical coordinator during the ceremony which was incredibly helpful. He told us that the band had no limit to songs that they would learn for us, which was awesome because my husband is really into indie music that more traditional bands wouldn’t have played. They even learned how to do an instrumental version of “Grow Old with You” from the Wedding Singer for our ceremony. Everyone danced the whole night and had the best time because of the Hook Club Band. We can’t wait to go back and see them again in NYC!

The Hook Club was absolutely amazing at our wedding on August 5th! They were very affordable and incredibly responsive and accommodating throughout the planning process, working with us on our somewhat unconventional set list and first dance! A couple members of the band played beautifully during our ceremony and then the band absolutely killed during the reception, both as musicians and MCs. Our guests were blown away by the music and repeatedly told us so during the reception. I’ve already referred them to some friends getting married next summer! Band Manager Dan Vernam and the Hook Club were a total home run for our wedding in NYC at The Foundry. They provided a classically trained string quartet for the ceremony and an energetic, fabulous nine piece band for reception music and dancing. Their lead singer sounds like Etta James! Dan was so easy to work with and so professional in how he put together the program for the evening for our review to make sure we were totally happy. He came to our rehearsal and was extremely flexible in meeting and consulting throughout the planning process. We would recommend them for any occasion - they are talented and versatile and have a fabulous repertoire of music for all tastes! No one wanted the evening to end!

Everything about our experience with the Hook Club was superlative. My wife and I wanted a wedding band with energy, personality, and talent, and that didn’t feel like just a cover band. We were sold on the Hook Club when we went to see them perform a show in downtown Manhattan. They played for four hours straight and had every person in the bar on their feet the entire time. Their skill and dedication was apparent in the way they threw themselves into each and every song to make it special. Working with the band for our event was also wonderful. The band leader Dan was very easy to coordinate with and worked with us to dial in the type of music we wanted to be played (or not played). The band’s repertoire is extensive and they do an excellent job of reading the energy of the room and tailoring their set to what people want. Dan also put together a playlist of music for dinner and to play before the ceremony, and had a jazz duo play during our cocktail hour. We put our trust in Dan and THC to set the tone of our night musically, and they absolutely nailed it. Everyone from my grandmother to my college friends complemented us on the band. I highly recommend them.

We hired The Hook Club for our wedding and it was by far the best decision we made when it came to vendors. What drew us in first was the playlist they sent us that probably had around 500 songs on it and covered every genre you could imagine. We also checked them out on YouTube and were sold because it was clear they knew how to entertain a crowd. Dan was extremely helpful and took the time to personalize our experience and make it the party of a lifetime. Prior to the wedding, he scouted out our venue and gave us counsel on whether or not to get a stage which we were on the fence about (we got the stage and it was the best decision). We had calls with him to talk through what kind of vibe we wanted and what our priorities were when it came to the music. Throughout the whole process it felt like we were being put first and that they were doing everything they could to make this the customized music experience we wanted. On our actual wedding, it was an absolute party. The band had everyone on the dance floor throughout the entire night. They were supposed to play until midnight but went about 20 minutes over and the dance floor was still packed. To this day, we have so many guests asking who the band was and how we heard about them. It was such an amazing night and The Hook Club made it that much better. I cannot recommend this band enough. They are beyond talented and you’re going to have an amazing time with them. Book today and you won’t be sorry when your big day arrives.

These guys are real musicians and are not afraid to take on challenging songs or learn something new. As father of the bride, you can only hope the band you pick for your affair keeps the party going with a dance floor full of happy party goers. The Hook Club does just that. I couldn’t believe how full the dance floor was all evening. Their repertoire is very extensive, and the musicians have great enthusiasm. If I could give The Hook Club 10 stars, I absolutely would. They are simply amazing. At least 50 people complimented us on our the music, if not more. They played everything. Many guests were impressed by the range of music they played. Almost every single band member took a turn at lead vocals for at least one song. They play oldies, rap in English and Spanish, perform sax solos, play a baby grand piano, and do a mean Springsteen. When our guests demanded an encore, two singers, the sax, and the trumpet all came down on the dance floor. They were fun and interactive the entire night. We knew to expect high energy because we had the pleasure of seeing them play at the Groove club in downtown NYC. And I’ll add they are so reasonably priced compared to some of the other mediocre bands we considered. We cannot thank the band, and their leader, Dan enough for making our night unforgettable.

We found The Hook Club on The Knot while we planned out wedding this year. It was such a great choice!! The band director Dan was first to communicate with us and we went to watch a set live in Brooklyn, we were “hooked”. Our family and friends have been telling us how fabulous they are and my aunt got there number for our cousins wedding. They kept the party going all night. From the moment we saw The Hook Club’s contagious energy at their showcase we knew we had found a special group. They knew how to jam and play off each other that made for a fun and entertaining show. Getting to plan our special day with Dan was nothing short of easy. He was flexible in terms of the structure, run of show, and even was able to do things they hadn’t done before that showed us they were willing to go ‘above and beyond’. My Wife and I are SO HAPPY that we chose The Hook Club as our wedding band. Can I give 10 stars? The band leader, Dan V, went above and beyond to make our wedding sound and feel the way we wanted it to. We are a VERY music-minded couple, so we were likely not the easiest people to deal with, but he was SO flexible and understanding throughout the entire process. He even worked with me on a custom song-list! We had friends play music for our ceremony and Dan/Hook Club provided the equipment necessary which was all fantastic and perfect for the space (which was outside). The meat, though, was our reception. The wedding was almost two weeks ago and people are CALLING us to tell us how amazing the dance party was. L’Marco is officially everybody’s favorite person, Bree’s voice is INCREDIBLE and the rest of the band was SO tight. We had a ton of leftover dessert at the end of the night and i’m convinced its because the band was so great that people didn’t want to leave the dance floor to go eat. There are a few things I would change if we did the wedding again... but everything The Hook Club did was absolutely perfect. I only wish the night could have gone on for longer. PERSONAL favorites were their performances of Love Roller Coaster, the moment where they let my 8 year old cousin sit in on drums for a song (he’s still beaming from that: his first time sitting in the professionals) AND the EPIC Bohemian Rhapsody sing-a-long at the end of the night. What else can I say about The Hook Club? I hope I end up at another wedding where they’re the band! Seriously. Absolutely love these guys.

Where to start?! I was married two Saturday’s ago, and we hired The Hook Club to play our ceremony, cocktail hour and Reception. I found them from doing a bit of research, and from the very beginning, back to just messaging them that I was interested, Dan (Band Leader), has been the BEST vendor to work with. He invited us to see the band play at some shows downtown - early in the process. So of course we went, and I am not exaggerating when I say that upon hearing them play maybe 20 seconds of their first song, my husband and I looked at each other and confirmed at that early stage that THIS was the band we NEEDED at our wedding. From then on, Dan was involved in EVERY aspect of the music planning. Not only that, but he made everything so incredibly simple for us in terms of choosing music for our entire wedding. He came to see our venue twice, took care of all the logistical details with the venue about timeline and space, equipment needed, etc. The music planning process was awesome. He shared some playlists with us from some other weddings they’d done - to help guide us. From there, we created our own playlist with songs we’d want to hear. He was able to concoct a perfect vibe - using the songs we loved, with some that he thought would go with the vibe. We were very specific that we wanted a real Dance Party at the reception. And boy, did they deliver. This band is not your typical wedding band. Their energy is infectious, to say the least - and they absolutely nailed every song they played! They even learned to play songs that weren’t in their repertoire for our wedding because they knew we really wanted such songs played. The level of talent for all the band members is truly remarkable. They can play any genre - and even the instrument musicians can sing - and each have their own specialty. ( For example, they played Justin Beiber ‘Despacito” at our wedding and we all thought the vocals were coming from a track - but then we look back at the keyboard player and he is singing ever word! IN SPANISH!) They were so incredible, i don’t even know how to explain it - but throughout the entire reception, there was not even one minute where people weren’t dancing. From younger to older guests, the music and energy was so good, that people couldn’t help themselves from just getting up and dancing! I cant count the number of people who are still telling me how great the band was and how much fun it was because of their amazing performance and energy. MY ADVICE - Stop looking right now - and call the Hook Club immediately! Trust me, you’ll never find a band like them. Looking back, this was hands down the best decision we made about our wedding. It was so special and memorable, obviously for us, because of The Hook Club - but also for our guests!
